The Jewish Vienna Tour

The Jewish community in Vienna rose up from ashes of World War II and today numbers about 6000 people. This tour includes a visit to excavations of the medieval Synagogue  at Judenplatz and the memorial to Austrian Jews murdered during the Holocaust, a visit to the Stadttempel (the only Viennese Synagogue which survived Kristallnacht), the old Viennese Jewish cemetery (legendary „Cemetery of the Fish“) where Rabbi Shabtai Sheftl Horowitz, son of Rabbi Yeshayahu Horowitz (Shela ha-kadosh), is buried, as well as the Zentralfriedhof (Central Jewish cemetery of Vienna), where amongst many others Rabbi Yisroel Friedmann of Chortkow and other Hasidic Rabbis of Ruzhiner dynasties, founder of Agudas Yisroel, is buried. The tour will also give you comprehensive view on the contemporary life in the Jewish community in Vienna.

Mauthausen

The Nazi concentration camp of Mauthausen lies roughly 20 kilometres (12 mi) east of the city of Linz and a two and one half hour ride from Vienna. It was one of largest concentration camps, operating from the Anchluss of Austria in 1938 until liberation in 1945.
